Riverside is a neighborhood in the northeastern part of Princeton that is close to downtown Princeton. It is bordered by Kingston to the north and Harrison St. to the south. The western border is Princeton-Kingston rd. and the eastern border is Lake Carnegie.
Carnegie Lake
The Riverside Elementary School is a public school that serves the neighborhood children in grades K-5. John Witherspoon Middle School and Princeton High School are the public schools in Princeton that serve all of the children in Princeton.
Riverside School Garden
Parts of the Riverside neighborhood would be considered walking distance to town. Some are more of a hike. All styles of homes are represented in the Riverside neighborhood, ranch homes, split levels, contemporaries and colonials.The proximity of both Carnegie lake and the downtown Princeton restaurants, theatres and shopping make Riverside one of Princeton's favorite residential neighborhoods. Originally constructed for and still used by the Princeton University Crew Team, Lake Carnegie is a man made Lake belonging to Princeton University and also used by the public. The Delaware and Raritan Canal and the towpath adjacent to it are situated across the lake. Many of the homes back to Carnegie Lake providing stunning views and the opportunity to watch the seasons change against a backdrop of one of New Jersey’s most scenic lakes. Some winters there is even an opportunity to ice skate on the lake!

In any year there are between 275 and 350 children attending Riverside Elementary School. Not only are the academic achievements of the students very impressive but the big, bountiful garden that Riverside School grows every year is awe inspiring as well.
